Her upcoming series, Styling Solidarity, explores moments of tension and possibility in beauty retail spaces.
Christine began her career in broadcast as an Emma Bowen Fellow at Bay News 9, NY1 Live At Ten, and later CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. While serving BET’s audiences, Christine realized her flair for editorial lifestyle and commerce writing. A beauty internship at Hearst Magazines prepared Christine to write numerous viral shopping articles as a Staff Writer for BuzzFeed.
Christine’s commitment to full and fair narratives inspired her to rehabilitate incomplete and outdated coverage for ThoughtCo, Travel + Leisure, BRIDES, and The Spruce Eats on behalf of Dotdash Meredith’s Anti-Bias Review Board. Her recommendations on language and sound publishing practices were adopted into the editorial policies of BYRDIE and BuzzFeed. Christine occasionally consults for the Institute for Middle Eastern Understanding to promote equitable media coverage of historically marginalized people.
As a New York 1 News intern, Christine was encouraged by her mentor, Cheryl Wills, to write scripts for air during nightly health segments. For two years, Christine translated science into public policy as the Deputy Managing Editor of Public Health Reports. Understanding that responsible framings promote collective safety, Christine’s disability justice project, Surviving Ivy, investigates the mental health crisis in higher education.
An alumna of Barnard College, Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Theory.
