A storyteller

Christine Forbes is a Brooklyn-based multimedia journalist covering culture, style, education, and justice. Her storytelling mediums include social documentary photography, editorial writing, and videography. As a South Florida girl with West Indian roots, Christine strives to inspire empathy, engagement, and hope through her art.

Christine earned a Master of Science in Multimedia Journalism from Columbia University (2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Barnard College (2019). After a decade of writing and producing for some of the most prominent media outlets of our time, Christine remains committed to cultural preservation at the highest levels of journalistic integrity.

Through her independent platform, Warm Touch Studios, Christine directs and produces creative projects in collaboration with clients ranging from artists and organizers to editors and business owners. Her commercial photography portfolio includes promotional shoots, editorial portraits, and documentary stills.

In 2025, Christine was selected for the Bandung Residency by the Asian American Arts Alliance and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporic Arts. Her upcoming series, Styling Solidarity, explores moments of tension and possibility in beauty retail spaces.

Christine’s musings on culture, identity, and justice can be read in BYRDIE, Reckon News, Cosmopolitan, Bustle, and Prevention Magazine. She is also the original Writer-Researcher and Associate Producer of BYRDIE’s social series, Crowned, which earned a Gold Viddy Award, Glossy’s Best Use of Video Award, and a nomination for Best Short Form Video from Cynopsis Media.
